Earthly attachments were ever hard to fathom, or perhaps tender dreams were simply drawing to an end. The girl's silhouette would one day fade into twilight, never to return. Upon the bluestone, red fruit decayed. The white bird lingered long upon the branch, keeping watch. Lost in drifting thought, its body felt like duckweed, wavering as it slowly fell.
