Upon Parting

When goodbyes are in the air, what poem shall I gift you for your long journey? I shall gift you wisps of free-flowing winds and songs of high-flying birds. I shall keep to myself only this page of thin morning light, drenched in dew, the time we shared, and my longing gaze. The distant mountains are a letter of tomorrow in which grass pens life's new chapter. The waves carry you away, planting our reunion where the sound of tides will be.
